Elimu Africa is a Social infrastructure platform with a pan-African orientation and regional and international stakeholder engagement.

Our flagship focus is purpose-built student accommodation and the wider education-linked environments around it. We approach this sector through the connected requirements of capital, development, institutions and the people who will use the infrastructure.

We assess demand, affordability and campus needs with institutional partners. Design, construction and facilities management specialists can inform preparation, so decisions on accessibility, student wellbeing, maintenance and whole-life costs are considered together.

Dr. Lumkile Mondi

Dr. Mondi provides governance oversight and strategic guidance to Elimu Africa. His career spans academia at the University of the Witwatersrand, senior development finance roles at the Industrial Development Corporation, and board service across listed and state-linked organisations. He brings experience in fiduciary oversight, enterprise risk and long-term capital allocation.

Alfred Nicayenzi

Alfred leads Elimu Africa’s strategy, origination and project preparation for purpose-built student accommodation. His career spans private equity, development and mortgage finance, real estate, project finance and infrastructure asset management. He has worked on cross-border transactions in East, West and Southern Africa with development finance institutions, institutional investors and commercial lenders.

Robert Fogler

Robert focuses on legal and corporate affairs and capital markets engagement. His experience spans investment analysis, mortgage finance, private equity, real estate and blended finance. He has led due diligence and transaction execution across African markets, with attention to regulatory, currency and sector-specific risks.

Mothusi Letlaka

Mothusi oversees development, construction and operational planning for Elimu Africa’s student accommodation strategy. His background includes managing infrastructure and residential development programmes and coordinating contractors, technical advisers and public authorities. His work brings delivery, permitting, community engagement and operating considerations into project preparation.
